FAQ
Questions, answered
Everything you need to know about using a temporary email address with ILoveTempMail.
What is temp mail?
Temp mail (temporary email) is a free, disposable email address you can use instead of your real one. ILoveTempMail gives you an address instantly, with no sign-up, and shows incoming mail in a live inbox, so you can sign up, verify and move on while your personal inbox stays private.
How long do mailboxes and emails last?
Guest mailboxes (no account needed) last 5 days. Mailboxes in an account you link with the ILoveTempMail app last 30 days by default, and Pro can extend them. Each email is kept for 3 hours after it arrives on the free plan, or 30 days with Pro, so copy codes and save anything you need right away.
Can I use temp mail for verification codes?
Yes. Verification emails arrive in the inbox within seconds, and ILoveTempMail detects the code so you can copy it with one tap, even straight from the inbox list. Verification links are detected too.
Is temp mail safe and legal?
Using a temporary email address is legal and is a common way to protect your privacy from spam and data breaches. Don't use it for accounts you need to recover later, like banking or work, because the mailbox expires.
Why does a website say my email is not allowed?
Some websites block known disposable email domains. Create a new address, which may come from a different domain, or use your own custom domain with ILoveTempMail Pro, which isn't on disposable-domain lists.
Can I send email from a temporary address?
Free temporary addresses are receive-only. With ILoveTempMail Pro you can send and reply from mailboxes on your own verified custom domain, and track delivery in your Sent folder.
Can I create a custom email address?
Yes, with ILoveTempMail Pro. Link your account by scanning the QR code with the ILoveTempMail app, then tap New mailbox, choose Custom, and pick your own username and one of the available domains.
How is this different from 10 Minute Mail?
10-minute email services delete your address after a few minutes. ILoveTempMail guest addresses stay active for 5 days, so late confirmation emails and password resets still reach you, and linked accounts keep mailboxes for 30 days.
Is my data secure?
Emails are stored temporarily and automatically cleaned up. We do not share your data with third parties. Since these are disposable addresses, we recommend not using them for sensitive accounts.
How do I delete my account?
In the ILoveTempMail app, go to Settings, then Account, and tap Delete account. Without the app, enter your recovery code at ilovetempmail.com/delete-account. Your account, mailboxes and emails are deleted right away. Deleting doesn't cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription, so cancel that in the store.
Can I receive attachments?
Yes, ILoveTempMail supports receiving email attachments. You can download them directly from the message view in your inbox.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. ILoveTempMail is available for iPhone and Android, plus Chrome and Firefox extensions. Your mailboxes sync across all your devices automatically.
